Dubai launches the project “Clean Energy Strategy 2050” and new opportunities for Italian companies specialized in solar and alternative energy are on the horizon.
In advance of a few days as opposed to the appointment in Paris for the International Conference of the United Nations Climate Change, “Conference of the parties” (Cop21) scheduled from 30 November to 11 December 2015, the Sheikh of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum , Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched on November 26 the “Project Clean Energy Strategy 2050”, which aims to make Dubai a global center of clean energy and green economy.

The strategy includes 100 billion Dirhams of investments in “Green Fund”, and 50 billion in the second phase of the Solar Park by 2030.
Shaikh Mohammad said that the United Arab Emirates, through its various strategies and investment in clean and renewable energy, is now a leader in this field, despite having one of the most important oil reserves in the world.
The project also envisages the creation of a new zone under the name of ‘Dubai Green Zone’ dedicated to the development of research and development and encourage the entry of foreign companies operating in the field of clean energy.
The strategy aims to provide 75 percent of the emirate energy through renewable energy sources by 2050, with the goal of becoming by this date, the city in the world with the lowest percentage of CO2 emissions.
